Welcome to Coaching Lancashire

Lancashire Sport Partnership is one of four County Sport Partnership using a data management system in the North West.

Lancashire Sport Partnership hopes to develop Coaching Lancashire into a 'one stop shop' information and management tool, for coaches and employers of coaches in the North West.

This information and management tool will help us build a picture of existing coaching being undertaken, and the existing and future needs of coaches and coach employers in the North West.

Get Qualifed Programme

As you may be aware we have the Get qualified funding programme that is available for any coaches wishing to complete a level 2 or level 3 UKCC coaching qualification.

As part of this programme, The National Skills Acadamy for Sport & Active Leisure, are running a mentoring programme to support the development of coaches in the North West who are are currently working through, or have recently undertaken coaching qualifications.

Working together with Lancashire Sport as one of the County Sport Partnerships in the North West, the National Skills Acadamy wil limplement this regional-wide mentoring programme starting in May 2010. The programme will offer support to coaches signed up to the ‘Get Qualifed North West’ Scheme, which provides coaches with 60% financial support (up to a maximum levels) towards level 2 and level 3 qualifications.

The support offered to you as a coach through the programme includes:

  • One-to-one session with an identified mentor to discuss the coach’s development goals, including support to develop a personal development plan
  • The opportunity to work with a mentor to support the coach to develop their indentified coaching goals
  • The opportunity to link into local networks and engage with local partners involved in coaching, such as the Lancashire Sport and the Coach Development Manager

The mentor support is free to the coach but in return we ask for you to provide evidence of 15 hours of coaching being done as a result of the programme and the support you will have received from Get Qualified NW.
